Electro deionization Module

We (GIECL) is most prominent manufacture and exporter of Electro deionization Module in india. Water treatment technology known as electro deionization (EDI) uses an electrochemical procedure to eliminate ionized contaminants from water. The system's essential part is the Electro deionization Module, or EDI Module. In industries like pharmaceuticals, electronics, and power generation where high-purity water is crucial, EDI is frequently utilized as a polishing step in water purification operations. Electro deionization (EDI) is a continuous, chemical-free technique for removing ionized and ionisable species from supply water using DC voltage. EDI is often used to shine RO Permeate and is an alternative to the traditional mixed bed Ion Exchange Process.

The basic concept of Electro Deionization (EDI) treatment is the concurrent use of Ion Exchange and Membrane Separation software procedures. An environmentally friendly and very effective method of treating water is electro-deionization, which is often employed to modernize conventional Mixed Bed Ion Exchange Units. Using DC electricity, electro deionization (EDI) is a continuous, chemical-free process that removes ionized and ionisable species from supply water. Shining RO permeability is a typical application for EDI, which offers an alternative to traditional mixed bed ion exchange processes. When using EDI, it becomes unnecessary to store and handle hazardous chemicals that are needed to regenerate resin in mixed beds.

How An Electrodeionization Module Works?

EDI typically starts with water passing through ion exchange resin beds. These beds contain positively and negatively charged resins that attract and capture ions in the water. An electric field is applied across the ion exchange resin beds by the EDI module. The released ions go in the direction of electrodes with opposite charges due to this electric field. As the ions move towards the electrodes, they pass through ion-selective membranes. These membranes allow only the desired ions to pass through while blocking others. Ion exchange resin beds are renewed at the electrodes by electrochemical reactions involving the captured ions, allowing the beds to absorb more ions from the entering water.
